The Awards
All the awards are delivered free of charge in electronic format only. Use the following link to check your scores and claim your new awards via the WCA English Castles Awards Claim Service.
Simply enter your callsign, check the hunter or activator box, enter the security code (case sensitive) and submit. You will be presented with all the references you’ve already worked including which awards you’ve already claimed and if you have a new award available to claim. At the bottom of the page click yes if you wish to claim your award/s, enter your name and email and push send. Your award/s will be emailed to you in good time.
ECA Hunter Awards
10 levels issued for working:
Basic 15, Bronze 50, Silver 75, Gold 100, Platinum 150, Diamond 200, Honor Roll 300.
Three special awards are also available for the dedicated chaser! The Crusader Award 500, the Knights Templar 1000 and finally the ECA award The Grand Master 1500.
For the experienced ECA hunter this is where your journey of dedication begins! Grand Master Hunter Awards begin at 1500 references worked. They then continue in 24 levels of 250. Each ECA Grand Master Award displays a different Grand Master shield. Once the 24th Grand Master Award has been earned, displaying the Special Grand Masters Templar Shield, endorsements for references worked are then added to the final award shield in increments of 250.
References hunted do not have to be unique. Hunters are credited for all worked references. To encourage activity and the re- working of references the William Marshal repeat awards are available.
ECA Activator Awards
10 levels issued for activating:
Basic 5, Bronze 15, Silver 50, Gold 75, platinum 100, Diamond 150, Honor Roll 200.
The Crusader 350, Knights Templar 500 and the ultimate ECA activator award The Grand Master 700 are also available for the dedicated top activators.
For the experienced ECA Activator this is also where your journey of dedication begins! Grand Master Activator Awards begin at 700 references activated. They continue in 24 steps of 50. Each ECA Grand Master Award displays a different Grand Master shield. Once the 24th Grand Master Award has been earned, displaying the Special Grand Master Templars Shield, endorsements for references activated are added to this award in increments of 50. Grand Master level 1, 2, 3 etc.
References activated do not have to be unique. Activators are allowed to re-activate previously activated references. However new references are of course encouraged. To encourage the re-activation of previously activated references, the William Marshal repeat awards are available.
William Marshal Awards
In addition to all these award stages and to encourage activity and the re-working / activating of references the “William Marshal” repeat reference awards are available to activators and also hunters. They are awarded for activating/hunting the same references 10 times or more. There are 10 levels for each reference awarded in stages of 10. Activators awards are automatically sent to them via email and Facebook they do not need to make a claim however hunters must keep an eye on their hunter statistics page and manually count the references they are wanting to claim a repeat award for. There are 10 levels for each reference awarded in stages of 10, so you can claim a new award every time you have hunted the same reference 10/20/30/40/50/60/70/80/90 up to 100 times. Claiming is simple, send your email to englishcastlesawards@gmail.com typing William Marshal Award in the subject line of your email along with your callsign and the reference number you are claiming your repeat award for. Your new award will be emailed to you in good time.
Swl Awards
The only exception to the above is Swl Awards which can be claimed in the same increments as hunter awards via email to englishcastlesawards@gmail.com.
You must give details of your Swl callsign, the activators callsign, the activators castle reference number along with the date and another amateur radio callsign of the station the activator worked at a specific time in utc. For example a Swl ‘Basic’ Award claim will need 15 log entries emailed to the above email address with the details stated. Should any of these details be missing from a Swl award claim it will be disregarded. Should all the information required be present the logs will be checked and the award sent in a reply via email.
